Valeo FC is set to begin playing in the National Premier Soccer League for the 2020 season, as originally reported in New England Soccer Journal and announced Thursday by the NPSL.
The club, based out of Newton, Mass., will be coached by former Southern New Hampshire player Corlton Simmond and play its home games in West Roxbury, Mass., at a to-be-named site. Simmond is a former coach at Daniel Webster College and has experience with Development Academy clubs Seacoast United and Westchester FC.
In an interview with NESJ, Simmond explained how Valeo is looking to extend its platform for development. Their team will field U-23 players, featuring Valeo alumni in college, current club players and residential players from Jamaica. They’re also considering bringing in residential players from other Caribbean nations.
