The buildup to the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil continues, as the U.S. squad just wrapped up the Four Nations Tournament in the Netherlands.
While a roster spot isn't guaranteed, it’s looking increasingly likely that New York City FC winger Andres Jasson (Greenwich, Conn.) will be part of head coach Raphael Wicky’s team. He now has 11 caps and one goal for the U-17s, with his tally coming last Saturday in a 4-1 win over the Netherlands.
That win set up a potential title-clinching match Tuesday against Denmark, though the U.S. were on the wrong side of a 4-1 result. Earlier in the tournament, they came from behind to beat Concacaf rivals Mexico, 2-1.
