Two traditional prep soccer powers, South Kent and Worcester Academy, have to virtually revamp their entire back line for 2018. The same goes for Choate, a Class A tournament team in 2017, and Phillips Exeter, which is a tough out every season.
While great turnover is expected at those programs, NEPSAC schools also return some top-level defenders who have already made a name for themselves on campuses throughout New England. From there, we’ve highlighted 10 defenders who are worth keeping an eye on this fall.
Every player included below played in the NEPSAC in 2017, and there's no specific ranking of any kind. Rather, they’re listed in alphabetical order, with five honorable mentions also listed.
This list includes four Division 1 commits before a single scrimmage gets underway, speaking volumes to the talent level across prep school soccer.
