Lee Sentnor isn’t quite sure where the competitive nature comes from. Neither is Rich, her husband. They’re business folks — numbers people — whose athletic careers never extended beyond Lee’s childhood gymnastics days and Rich’s high school soccer team. They value education dearly, and live a simple life, a nice life in Hanson, Mass., a town on Boston’s South Shore.
So when Ally, then 2, flipped a Candyland game board over because she lost, they were shocked. Ally, their oldest daughter, was years away from even entering preschool.
“My wife looked at me and goes, ‘This is your fault,’” Rich said. “I honestly wasn’t sure what was going on.”
