On the surface level, it’s been a memorable week for the Providence College women’s soccer team. A 1-0 win over Texas on Thursday and 2-1 win over Northeastern on Sunday will lead to that sort of conclusion.
But big deeper and you start to realize more is at play for the Friars.
Last week’s victories both came in overtime and pushed Providence’s record in extra frames to 4-0-1 this season. They’re also 5-3-1 overall as they head into Big East play, and arguably could have turned 1-0 losses to Brown, UMass and Rutgers into positive results.
