The past two years, the NEPSAC Class C title has gone to Hebron Academy, a testament to the program head coach Kurt Swanbeck has erected about 50 miles north of Portland, Maine.
But when the 2018 tournament gets underway on Wednesday, culminating in Sunday’s final at Middlesex School, a new champion will emerge. The Lumberjacks didn’t make the postseason this year, so two likely candidates to raise some silverware are No. 1 Millbrook and No. 2 Pingree.
Millbrook, with reigning National and New York Gatorade Player of the Year Ousseni Bouda, is certainly the favorite. But head coach John Seigenthaler insists the Mustangs (12-4) are far more than Bouda, a Stanford commit and Right To Dream player.
