Former Thayer Academy and South Shore Select star Ally Sentnor, who grew up in Hanson, Mass., was selected by Utah Royals FC as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft on Friday night.
The midfielder/forward declared for the draft after a phenomenal redshirt sophomore season at UNC in 2023. She started all 23 contests and concluded the season with a team-high 11 goals, seven assists and 29 points, including four goals and three assists in the NCAA Tournament. She was named the ACC Midfielder of the Year, also garnering United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-America honors, All-Atlantic Region First Team and All-ACC First Team praise.
In 2022, she helped lead perennial powerhouse UNC to the national championship game.
