FC Stars is one of the nation's biggest ECNL clubs.
As FC Stars left behind the Development Academy for the 2018-19 season, that shift opened a new possibility.
Namely, it meant the onset of FC Stars East and FC Stars West, what director of coaching Jason Dewhurst described as essentially two separate clubs competing in the ECNL’s Northeast Conference.
The venture gives New England five teams in the national, showcase-centered league – Connecticut FC, FSA and Scorpions SC are the others – at age age group.
The decision was one that Dewhurst, who sits on the ECNL board of directors, said carried uncertainty as the club soccer season rolled around.
