When 1 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 16 rolls around, Diego Fagundez (Leominster, Mass.) will get his first taste of the MLS Free Agency process.
That’s when other clubs around Major League Soccer can begin communicating with free agents, a designation that the midfielder falls under since he’s out of contract with the New England Revolution and seeking a deal for the 2021 season.
Fagundez, the club’s first Homegrown Player, meets the requisite age (at least 24) and MLS service years (at least five) amounts to choose his next stop. His Revolution career includes 53 goals and 45 assists through 261 regular-season appearances, with the latter statistic tying MLS legend and Revolution Academy U-15 coach Shalrie Joseph for the club record.
