As a youth and collegiate player, Ellie Jean (Coventry, Conn.) made several ever-lasting memories.
In 2015, the Oakwood SC product had six assists in 26 games (21 starts) as Penn State won the Division I women’s soccer national title. Then in 2016, Jean started all six games for the United states at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. She also helped the Nittany Lions win three Big Ten titles.
But Wednesday marked possibly a new high, as Jean started for PSV Eindhoven against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Women's Champions League. She played 90 minutes in a 4-1 defeat, calling it the “cherry on top” to achieve that professional goal.
