And then there were three.
After 12 teams from New England made the Division 3 men’s NCAA tournament, only a trio from the NESCAC are left standing ahead of Sweet 16 matches on Saturday.
The fact Amherst, Connecticut College and Tufts advanced to this stage should come as no surprise, as they held steady in the top-25 national rankings during the fall. There will also be a quick turnaround with Elite Eight matches on Sunday, and there’s a chance Connecticut College and Tufts meet at that stage in Swarthmore, Pa.
