Nearly 21 months ago, Charlie Booth (Concord, Mass.) had a sports hernia operation, missing his entire senior year at Bryant University. The center back already recorded 47 career starts and a All-Northeast Conference Second Team nod, but it was a tough blow for his professional soccer aspirations at a small Division 1 program.
So, Booth transferred out to the University of Rhode Island as a graduate student, a decision that’s certainly paid dividends.
Last week, Booth signed with FC Tucson in USL League One, following his progression up the USL ladder. He captained the Flint City Bucks to a USL League Two title last summer.
