For New England’s USL League Two teams, the 2019 season has been over for nearly two weeks. But for one player from the region, national title hopes are alive and well.
Charlie Booth (Concord, Mass.), an incoming graduate student at the University of Rhode Island, will play in Saturday’s USL2 championship game when the Flint City Bucks host Reading United.
Flint City entered as the No. 4 seed (wild card) in the Central Conference and knocked off FC Golden State Force last weekend in the semifinals. Formerly known as the Michigan Bucks, they’ve won a USL2-record three national championships.
