Ask around the Division 1 women’s soccer community about Boston College, and the conversation likely first starts with the Eagles’ (7-1-1) offense.
Mainly, it’s how first-year head coach Jason Lowe could possibly deal with the losses of sophomore Kayla Duran (Woburn, Mass.) and senior Jenna Bike (Trumbull, Conn.) to season-ending injuries. Or maybe the breakout season freshman Sam Smith (Hanson, Mass.) is enjoying. There’s possibly a nod to senior Olivia Vaughn nearing 30 career goals, too.
But much of the ACC program’s success has been driven by a young defense that's comprised of three freshmen. Naturally, that arrangement led to some questions that Lowe and his staff grappled with.
