The Division 1 women’s season marches on. Now, with non-conference play winding down, local teams are working hard to enter the second half of the season on the right foot. Conference games tend to carry more weight and will largely answer whether a program's NCAA tournament hopes are based more on reality or hope.
Boston College, Providence and Yale all won twice in the past week to boost or hold their respective rankings.
Meanwhile, Northeastern and UConn both went 1-1 as they continue to search for answers. They’re not the only New England programs still figuring things out; only BC and UMass have at least four wins at this point of the season.
