Since becoming the head coach at Yale University, Kylie Stannard has struck up a close relationship with one of his colleagues just down the hall.
He’s turned to Andy Shay, the men’s lacrosse head coach, for some guidance. The former Michigan State associate head coach is even modeling his program, to some degree, off the 2018 national champions. That season, Ben Reeves was also named the Tewaaraton Award winner as the best player in college lacrosse. Then last spring, Yale returned to the national title game, only to lose to Virginia. Faceoff specialist TD Ierlan was nominated for the Tewaaraton Award.
“The ambition is to be the fall version of Yale men’s lacrosse,” Stannard said.
