The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association is home to over 60,000 players and 160 clubs, all of whom saw their spring season brought to a standstill in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
While leagues and clubs will make their individual decisions about returning to the field, CJSA executive director Josh Krusewski doesn't expect that to happen full bore anytime soon.
In a wide-ranging interview with New England Soccer Journal, Krusewski said he envisions the Connecticut club soccer status quo returning in January 2021. That’s eight months out, and he’s hopeful that an adjusted version returns by the fall.
