The 2024 MLS season will open with a bang tomorrow, as star-studded Inter Miami, led by the iconic Lionel Messi and his new teammate Luis Suarez, will host Real Salt Lake in the league’s first game of the new campaign.
The New England Revolution, under new head coach Caleb Porter, will open up on Saturday, at D.C. United (7:30 p.m.), as part of an 11-match day that will see many of the MLS’ squads kickoff their new season.
The Revs returned to the playoffs last year, but fell in a Round 1 best-of-three series against Philadelphia. The Columbus Crew defeated LAFC to win the 2023 MLS Cup.
Beyond the Revolution, there’s plenty of players with deep New England connections to keep an eye on this year. That includes players who have already built name recognition within the league, and some who are hoping to jumpstart a long and prosperous career.
