Ally Sentnor (Hanson, Mass.) knew the time was right.
After two seasons at national powerhouse North Carolina, Sentnor had done plenty to show that she was among the top players in the country. In 48 college games (45 starts), the 5-foot-3 forward/midfielder racked up 21 goals (10 game-winners) and nine assists, and helped lead the Tar Heels to the national championship game in 2022.
For the 19-year-old, there wasn’t much left to prove at the collegiate level. Sentnor has always had professional aspirations, dating back to her youth days playing in soccer-rich Hanson, Mass., and later as a standout for South Shore Select and Thayer Academy.
