With the 2018 soccer calendar coming to close, there is one item on my soccer wish list that I would love to see come to pass by the end of the year: a new manager for the U.S. men’s national team.
It has almost been a full year since Bruce Arena resigned as head coach of the U.S. men’s national team. Nobody in the soccer world really knows the plan for what is next, but I for one am ready for a new coach to be named. The current roster that has played and competed in recent friendlies is incredibly young and inexperienced. While interim coach Dave Sarachan has done an admirable job in a difficult situation, he is not the long-term replacement. The longer that Sarachan remains in charge, the more difficult it will ultimately be for the players when they have a new voice to follow.
