What does it take to build a successful partnership on the field?
An understanding of each other’s abilities, a trust both on and off the field, and most importantly, friendship.
For University of Vermont seniors Geo Alves and Justin Freitas (North Attleboro, Mass.), the concept of friendship only scratches the surface. The duo has been together since they met at the New England Revolution Academy. Now, they are the driving force behind the Catamounts’ successful 2018 season.
“They’re the difference-makers,” Vermont head coach Rob Dow said. “Every time we play, they embrace that role. They want the team to rely on them to win the game.”
