A second member of the University of Rhode Island’s Atlantic 10-winning side has signed a professional contract, with news surfacing late last week that Stavros Zarokostas (Coventry, R.I.) is now a Charleston Battery player.
The move, which follows center back Charlie Booth (Concord, Mass.) penning a deal with USL League One side FC Tucson, actually came together in early March. However, the COVID-19 pandemic caused Zarokostas’ new USL Championship team to wait on a formal announcement.
The 22-year-old winger paid little mind to the delay, though.
