When Garrett Lillie talks talks about his time at the University of Vermont, he speaks with affection. Moreover, the York, Maine, native talks about getting back to a place of happiness in the game — both on and off the pitch.
“Coming back home, I’m more motivated than ever to not necessarily re-create any reputation or anything like that, but to enjoy the game and feel comfortable,” Lillie said. “It’s bringing that competitiveness out again and just playing the game for what it is.
“At the core, if you’re not enjoying your soccer, then you’re not going to bring out the best you can be.”
