FSA FC goalkeeper Maria Galley (South Windsor, Conn.) has verbally committed to Xavier, positioning the Class of 2022 standout to compete in the Big East.
Galley, when she joins the Cincinnati-based program, will become the first New England native to play for the Musketeers in a dozen years. Justine Hartigan (Peabody, Mass.), during the 2010 season, was the last local player to don a Xavier jersey after transferring in from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
While Galley is taking the path less traveled, a visit to Xavier’s campus about a month ago sealed the deal.
