Tajiah Seals (East Hartford, Conn.) has faced multiple obstacles in her life, but now the Connecticut FC defender has Division I soccer in her future.
The achievement follows years of hard work, especially impressive for a teenager who hasn’t always had a clear path to success. Before the age of 2, Seals was in and out of foster care twice, which “wasn’t a good place to be.” More recently, she experienced a “rocky road” in school, which prompted her to transfer.
But she’s persevered through these challenges and has brighter horizons ahead, now verbally committed to Iona’s Class of 2022. The Gaels are a MAAC program that’s led by head coach Todd Plourde, who’s also the Girls ECNL co-director for Connecticut FC.
