By the time she was in the seventh grade, Caroline Walbridge (Hanover, Mass.) knew she wanted to play Division 1 college soccer.
However, finding opportunities to showcase her talent proved difficult, at times, in the ensuing years.
"Over the years, I think I’ve had a lot of coaches overlook me and maybe not give me the opportunity," said Walbridge, a Class of 2022 player. "I never took that personally, I always just kept working hard."
Part of that hard word and dedication has been making the 90-minute drive from Hanover to Lancaster, Mass. to train with her club team, FC Stars, multiple times per week. Stars coach James Blackwell, who has worked with Walbridge for the past couple of years, watched a versatile and industrious player blossom into a productive ECNL Regional team member and the D1 prospect she always wanted to become.
