June 13, 2021 is a day that Peyton McNamara (Norwalk, Conn.) won’t soon forget.
That’s when the former Connecticut FC and Brien McMahon (Conn.) High School midfielder, who’s soon entering her sophomore season at Ohio State, featured for Jamaica’s women’s national team against the United States.
Although the Reggae Girlz dropped a 4-0 match against the two-time defending World Cup champions, the international friendly provided a milestone moment for McNamara. She subbed on in the 68th minute for Rangers center back Chantelle Swaby (West Hartford, Conn.), announcing herself as one of Concacaf’s budding young talents.
