The initial group of invitees to the MLS Combine is out.
The annual pre-SuperDraft event, held Jan. 3-9 in Orlando, Fla., will allow all 24 MLS clubs to witness a series of scrimmages. Further, players will go through various fitness tests and interview with interested teams.
While more players can be added down the road, 11 of the 60 currently invited have roots in New England. Eight played at schools in the region, two went to local prep schools and another plays at a national-renowned program. Below is each player with notes on their college career and likelihood to be selected.
There's no guarantee the New England Revolution select any locals, but they're slated to pick ninth and eleventh in the first round. The club also has its natural selections in the second (33rd), third (57th) and fourth (81st) rounds. The 2019 SuperDraft will be held in Chicago, Ill.
