CONCORD, Mass. – After perhaps their toughest test yet, Newton South remained undefeated.
The Lions extended their winning streak and shutout streak to six games with a 2-0 win over Dual County League rival Concord-Carlisle, improving to 9-0-2 on the season.
After Alessio Bonaldo stifled a couple of CC chances early on, Nico Bradley helped flip the tide in Newton South's favor when he opened the scoring in the 21st minute.
The Patriots (7-2-0) pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but couldn't solve Bonaldo before Ernest Lam made it 2-0 in the 50th minute, keeping momentum on the Lions' side.
