A trio of former Seacoast United players have traded coasts to join the residency program at the Seattle Sounders, winners of four U.S. Open Cups and one MLS Cup.
Chief among them is U-17 goalkeeper Jamie Lowell, a Brentwood, N.H., native with serious professional soccer aspirations. He previously spent two years at Phillips Exeter Academy, though left the comforts and routine of home to chase his dreams.
That's led him to a rather unorthodox class and practice schedule at the Starfire Sports Complex, about a 20-minute drive outside the city in Tukwila, Wash. Lowell, 16, is also living with the family of Harvard commit and Sounders U-19 goalkeeper Bobby Harraka. He's trained with Sounders FC 2, the club's USL Championship team, too.
