After starting the season with three straight home wins, Providence suffered a 1-0 road loss last Sunday against Georgetown.
That necessitated a response Wednesday evening when visiting Seton Hall, and the Friars (4-1) delivered with a 1-0 victory behind freshman center back Avery Snead’s (Wrentham, Mass.) second game-winner of the spring.
Snead, a former Scorpions SC and King Philip Regional (Mass.) High School standout, headed home a corner kick from junior forward Elayna Grillakis (Lowell, Mass.) in the 62nd minute. Grillakis played for FC Stars and is the all-time assists, goals and points leader at Central Catholic (Mass.) High School.
