It took until the 109th minute, but Bryant found a game-winner against Sacred Heart in Tuesday’s Northeast Conference contest, winning 1-0 in double overtime.
With the seconds ticking away, Bryant (1-1) midfielder Amanda Spitaleri embarked on a piercing run before launching a shot at Sacred Heart (0-3-1) goalkeeper Elyssa Kipperman (Southbury, Conn.). The rebound fell kindly to sophomore forward Madeline Labance, who punched home on the doorstep.
Bryant’s original NEC opener against Central Connecticut State got postponed to this coming Friday, so head coach Andy Biggs and his players had to wait longer than expected.
