Looking to shake off an uncharacteristic 2019 campaign that included the program’s first absence from the Patriot League tournament, Boston University began its spring season on the back foot Saturday afternoon.
Hosting Army West Point at Nickerson Field, the Terriers suffered a 2-0 defeat in their first of six conference games over the next five weeks. BU’s (0-1) division also includes Colgate, Holy Cross and Lafayette, with the COVID-19 pandemic limiting travel.
The Terriers’ loss against Army (1-0) was their first game in 490 days after the fall campaign was pushed back. And for head coach Nancy Feldman, the result is a “starting point” they’ll need to improve from.
