For the first time since the 2016 season, UConn women’s soccer has started off with two straight wins.
The Huskies (2-0) established that Sunday afternoon via a 2-0 non-conference win over Northeastern, creating some momentum before officially returning to the Big East Conference this coming Thursday when traveling to Providence College.
Goals on either side of halftime drew the headlines, but UConn also posted its second straight shutout after opening two weekends ago with a 2-0 victory against Rhode Island. With that foundation, head coach Margaret Rodriguez feels they've taken a big step forward.
