When a new coach inherits a recruiting class, it can often be an awkward spot. They likely didn’t know the players beforehand, so they’re left trying to forge relationships with those who thought they were entering a different scenario.
That’s the spot Jason Lowe finds himself in with Boston College’s Class of 2023, though he has a slight advantage. Lowe, hired in January after longtime coach Alison Foley resigned, is somewhat familiar with the five players already announced from his previous work as Wake Forest associate head coach.
"They committed to a different staff, so it’s forming those relationships and seeing them play and making a direct connection with the family," Lowe said. "They’re going to be important, so it’s going out of your way some to extend that welcoming hand.”
