Last fall, FC Stars standout Payton Linnehan (Douglas, Mass.) made headlines as one of two local players named to the U.S. roster for the 2018 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup.
While that tournament didn't go as planned – the U.S. failed to advance from their group – Linnehan clearly impressed, as she's one of two 2001-born players called in for the latest U-23 camp. The other is fellow forward and Penn State commit Jordan Canniff, who is younger than Linnehan by just four months.
Linnehan, 18, is part of head coach Mark Carr's 20-player roster for a Spain-based camp that will see the U.S. play three matches at the 2019 Women’s International U-23 La Manga Tournament.
