ECNL Boys announced the 2021-22 Conference Players of the Year and All-Conference First and Second Teams across the league’s 12 conferences.
Leading the way, in regards to clubs from New England, was NEFC forward Colin Hughes (Charlton, Mass.), who was named Northeast Conference Player of the Year for the U-18/19 age group. He was the only New England player to receive Player of the Year recognition.
Hughes is entering his freshman season at Colgate. He helped guide NEFC to two straight Northeast Conference championships, and was an ECNL All-American last year. He also attended Worcester Academy and played three years on the varsity soccer team, notching 33 goals and 17 assists during his career, including 21 goals and 12 assists as a senior last fall. Hughes was named a United Soccer Coaches All-American, Prep School All-American and All-NEPSAC.
