Brandeis men’s soccer head coach Gabe Margolis has a unique viewpoint on the Division I versus Division III debate that surfaces in youth soccer – not just in New England, but nationally as well.
During his early 2000s playing days, Margolis began at Boston College. Or rather he was on the roster, as he’s quick to point out.
Then he transferred to Wheaton, a NEWMAC program in Norton, Mass., and became a three-year starter who helped the Lyons reach the Final Four during his junior season. He played under the late Matt Cushing, a coach who’s revered in collegiate circles.
