For all their successes, one would think Justin Serpone and Josh Shapiro would have already met in a postseason game. After all, they both routinely guide lengthy playoff runs.
Serpone, in his 12th year at Amherst's helm, has brought the Mammoths the 2015 national title and five NESCAC championships. Shapiro, in his ninth year as Tufts' head coach, has brought the Jumbos the 2014 and 2016 national titles, plus the 2017 NESCAC championship.
But things haven't worked out that way.
"It’s kinda strange to think about," Shapiro said.
