Greg DeVito is getting those feelings again.
When Eastern Connecticut State won five Little East Conference titles from 2007-13, the coach often had a sense that his team would find a way to deliver what was needed, whether it was a goal on a night when previous chances had been denied, or a stretch of brilliance to wrestle control of a game.
Picked fourth in the preseason Little East poll, the Warriors have opened their season with wins in 10 of 12 matches. They are 3-1 in the league with six games remaining, including four against LEC foes.
“I think we’re pleased; I don’t know if we’re surprised,” said DeVito. “We’re pleased with how we’re playing right now. You try to do the little things and every game we’re doing more and more of the little things.”
