Rebecca Cooke did not take a quantum leap forward in her play in the 2022 season for the Quinnipiac women’s soccer team. Rather, the junior forward-midfielder from Dublin, Ireland, started simply to feel more comfortable playing the role of a prodigious goal-scorer.
Cooke’s comfort level produced a Division 1-leading 22 goals this season for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac coach Dave Clarke said Cooke’s play had not reached its peak, either.
"Truthfully, I still think she can play better," Clarke said. "She scored a lot of goals without being a dominant player."
