Let’s celebrate first-year players who wasted no time in making a major impact at the next level.
To accomplish that, we’ve arranged the group Best XI style in a somewhat unorthodox 4-2-4 formation. That’s done to get, in our opinion, the most deserving standouts some shine -- plus recognize some honorable mentions.
In all, the Best XI has 10 programs featured and seven players with hometowns in New England. Another six honorable mentions (think of them like substitutes) also hail from the region.
What’s clear is Division 1 women’s soccer programs continue to strike gold in their own backyard when recruiting.
