In its final season in the Northeast Conference, Sacred Heart appeared in its first-ever NEC championship game, falling to LIU by a goal. The Pioneers lost just once in their previous seven games, suggesting that things were starting to click.
It was a strong ending for a team that ultimately won just six games in 2023. But that momentum from October and November seems to have carried over.
Sacred Heart capped off an undefeated spring with a 2-1 win over Post on April 21 in the Connecticut Spring College Cup final. The CT Cup consists of six in-state teams playing five games each to increase the competitive aspect of the spring season.
