Earlier this week, Chase Wileman was named the new head coach of the Brown University men’s soccer team.
Wileman is the seventh head coach in program history, and comes to Brown with 11 years of NCAA Division 1 coaching experience, nine of which were as a top assistant. He most recently served as the associate head coach at the University of Kentucky, since July 2018.
"It’s a big challenge, but I love it, I’m pumped and I’m really excited about it," the 35-year-old Wileman told NESJ. "For me, it’s been about finding the right opportunity, instead of just finding an opportunity to be a head coach. When you’re at a place like Kentucky for eight years, with all the resources and where the program is at now -- they’re in an excellent place to take the next steps -- it’s going to really take a special opportunity to get you out of there as an assistant coach and become a head coach. To me, Brown is a special opportunity."
