No shortage of professional-ready defenders have played in New England in recent years.
Minnesota United center back Wyatt Omsberg (Scarborough, Maine) suited up for Dartmouth in the Ivy League. Jake Nerwinski, a right back for the Vancouver Whitecaps, played at UConn. Dylan Remick, a longtime left back for the Houston Dynamo and Seattle Sounders, featured for Brown. Another name to consider: Hartford alum Damion Lowe is now a center back for the Jamaica national team.
Time will tell if one or more break into the professional ranks, though there are some encouraging signs early on from the below group.
