To put it lightly, the 2017 Division 1 men's soccer season in New England threw everyone for a whirl.
Powerhouse programs as of late – UConn, Boston College and Providence College – never hit second gear, while the likes of New Hampshire and UMass Amherst made waves in the NCAA Tournament. The status quo was upset, setting an unclear tone for what could unfold in 2018.
Despite that, New England Soccer Journal's preseason top 10 is here, with the No. 1 team unlikely to surprise local soccer fans. The rest of the field, however, is where things get interesting.
