Boston University might not be known as a women’s soccer factory, but the Terriers have produced three players competing in Europe’s top leagues after midfielder Clare Pleuler (Gloucester, Mass.) recently joined UD Granadilla Tenerife in Spain.
Pleuler, who made her debut in a 3-1 loss against Sporting Huelva last week, joins former BU teammates Rachel Bloznalis (Upton, Mass.), a defender with Sweden’s Djurgardens, and Kylie Strom, a defender with Spain’s Atletico Madrid.
There's also a BU presence among Division 1 coaches, as Holy Cross head coach Casey Brown (Natick, Mass.), Fordham head coach Jessica Clinton and Seton Hall assistant coach Emma Clark (York, Maine) all played at BU under head coach Nancy Feldman (Needham, Mass.).
