Like any player headed to Division 1 on a scholarship, Erin Martin of Choate is serious about her soccer.
She calls the game a passion more than a job, but there’s no denying it eats up a lot of her hours: There are the daily practices and two games a week for a Choate team that’s annually one of the better ones in New England and a demanding offseason schedule with Connecticut FC, plus time with the Olympic Development Program.
But while she’s serious about her soccer, she doesn’t feel a need to always be … well, serious.
