Yale freshman forward Ellery Winkler puts winning over everything.
It sounds cliché, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true. After scoring a goal in her first collegiate game, Winkler says she was much more pleased with tying the score with St. John’s rather than her own personal achievement.
“As soon as I scored, the thing I was excited about was the fact that we were down 1-0 in the game, and that goal happened to be the one that tied it up,” Winkler said. “It was thrilling; all I could think about was how we now had a chance in that game because of all the hard work that we put together as a team.”
