But the Blue Devils (7-1) encountered a different test on Tuesday afternoon, falling to South Florida 3-0 in the opening round of the Division I women’s soccer NCAA tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The Bulls (10-0-2) scored three second-half goals, carrying the back-to-back American Athletic Conference champions past the three-time defending Northeast Conference champions.
